Abstract.
The study was an assessment of cassava production potentials, as a panacea for poverty alleviation (study of primary schools in Abakaliki Education zone). Descriptive survey design was adopted with a sample size of 80 Agricultural Science teachers, made up of 58 males and 22 females. Research questions and hypotheses guided the study. The study was carried out in Abakaliki Education zone , using the primary school teachers. Questionnaire was developed and used for data collection, while mean and standard
deviation were used to answer the research questions, and t-test statistics used to test the hypotheses at 0.05 significant level. The study recommends among other things that government at all levels should provide adequate facilities to improve cassava production in primary schools, which will go a long way in alleviating poverty in Nigeria.
