Abstract.
The study investigated the extent of Parents Teachers Association participation in sustaining Federal Government Colleges in Nigeria with focus on the South East geo-political zone of the country. Four research questions and four null hypotheses guided the study. Research questions were tested using mean and standard deviation while the hypotheses were tested using T-test procedure at 0.05 level of significance. The population of the study consisted of 89 relevant stakeholders in Federal government Colleges while the instrument for data collection was a questionnaire titled “Extent of Participation of PTA in Unity Schools Sustenance (EPPUSS)”. The instrument was validated by experts and tested for reliability using Cronbach Alpha, which yielded 0.73. Results showed that the extent of PTA participation sustaining Federal Government Colleges in South East, Nigeria is high. Recommendations were made
among which, was that Government-Parents Teachers Association partnership in implementation of education policies in Nigeria should continue.
