Abstract.
The study examined the application of research outcomes to improve the teaching of biology in secondary schools. Researches in science education have provided solutions to some problems that concern education especially in the area of teaching methods among others. The study analyzed the brain of the learner and how it could be developed to produce experts in biology. It stressed those activitybased approaches like inquiry, discovery methods among others which involves deliberate practice should be used to teach students biology for meaningful leaning and mastery of the subject.
