Abstract.
This research assessed utilization of information and communication technology tools for instructional delivery in public junior secondary schools in Port Harcourt metropolis in Rivers State. The study adopted descriptive survey design. Two research questions guided the study, while two hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance. The population consisting of 222 teachers was studied. A validated questionnaire with reliability coefficient of 0.89 was used for data collection. The arithmetic mean and standard deviation were used to analyse the data in respect of the research questions, while Z-test was used to test the hypotheses formulated. It was found that there are ICTs tools in public junior secondary schools, but are inadequate in supply. Again, teachers do not utilize these tools adequately due to their low level of competence skills. Based on these findings, it was recommended that government at all level should provide modern; relevant and adequate ICT tool for instructional delivery, and that seminars, workshops and conferences be organized to up-grade the level of competence skills possessed by teachers in the use of ICT.
